About

A small foundation with one clear promise.

We restore health and dignity through compassionate support and access to care. We walk with you, and as you step forward, we will not give up on you.

Our story

It started with people who were not being heard.

Hear Me began as a simple idea: that the act of being listened to, fully and without hurry, changes what is possible for a person. That idea became Hear Me, a service connecting people with trained listeners. It also revealed something else: many of the people reaching out to be heard were also going without basic care, especially for sleep and breathing problems that had shaped their lives for years.

The Hear Me Health Center in Orem grew from that recognition, and the Hear Me Foundation was formed alongside it with a single job: to make sure that cost is never the reason someone is turned away.

TODO: replace the paragraphs above with the real founding story (who, when, the moment that started it). Keep it to three short paragraphs.

How we are governed

Before we asked anyone for a dollar,
we decided how every dollar would be watched.

  • Directors serve unpaid

No board member receives compensation from the Foundation. Board members who have a relationship with any organization we fund disclose it in writing and recuse themselves from votes that touch it.

  • Two signatures on every account

Every disbursement from every Foundation account requires approval from two authorized officers. There are no single-signer accounts and no petty cash.

  • No payment is ever self-approved

The person who requests a payment cannot be one of the people who approves it. This applies to everyone, including officers and founders.

  • Form 990 filed every year

Our annual return is filed with the IRS and posted on this page as soon as it is accepted, along with a plain-language summary of what came in and where it went.

  • Restricted gifts stay restricted

If you designate a gift to a specific program, it is tracked separately and spent only on that program. Details are in our donor policy.
