Our commitment

Being heard includes being able to use the website. Hear Me Foundation is committed to making this site usable by as many people as possible, including people who use screen readers, keyboards, voice control, magnification, or who prefer reduced motion.

The standard we aim for

We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA. We review the site against that standard when we make significant changes, and we fix issues as they are reported.

What we have done

  • Every page has a "skip to content" link and a logical heading structure.
  • All interactive elements are reachable and operable by keyboard, with a visible focus indicator.
  • Text and background colors meet contrast requirements; information is never conveyed by color alone.
  • Text can be resized to 200% without loss of content or function, and layouts reflow on small screens.
  • Images have text alternatives; decorative animations are hidden from assistive technology.
  • Animations and moving elements are disabled for people who have set a "reduce motion" preference on their device.
  • Form controls have visible labels, and buttons state what they do.

Known limitations

Some parts of the site are provided by third parties, including embedded forms and the secure payment page. We choose providers that publish their own accessibility commitments, but we do not control their code. If any of these parts is difficult for you to use, contact us and we will complete the action with you another way, for example by phone or email.

TODO: once the payment processor and forms are live, test them with a screen reader and keyboard and list anything that remains here.

Feedback

If you find something on this site that does not work for you, please tell us. Include the page, what you were trying to do, and the device or assistive technology you were using. We respond within two business days and will fix what we can.
